San Andreas Highway Patrol - Join us!  (Read 3037 times)

Welcome to the SAHP main thread. All you need to know to get started or maybe even for general knowledge is here. Do not hesitate to PM me or to drop a comment if you want to know anything else.

  Who are we?
The San Andreas Highway Patrol (SAHP) is a state level agency that patrols mostly around the highways. SAHP units can be spotted performing patrol in a state-wide highway basis, although they're mostly seen on the side of the highways keeping check to see no one is speeding, nor breaking the law within the highway systems present in San Andreas. Very rarely, they will answer a callout to emergency services, unless, of course, direct assistance is requested or the situation happens within their jurisdiction. Whilst SAHP doesn't operate any specific stations/department, they are usually tied to the Red County Sheriff Department.

  What do we do?
In a very basic way of explaining, we stick to a slight amount of realism to not necessarily roleplay but to keep the experience realist to the point where it's fun and fair for the rest. We don't want people trolling, nor hardass superiors. We are a simply a group who has fun together sticking to some minor protocols, as for example, the "try to stay in jurisdiction" rule. We stick to basic police protocols. If you ever see a SAHP pursuit you'll be able to relate it to real life. We are organized, keeping primary, secondary and tertiary, etc units. We advise when we are going to attempt a PIT maneuver and we try to keep GTA:SA physic reckless driving to a minimum. The primary unit has to advise the location, direction, etcetera. As you can see, we keep policing protocols to a point where it's fun and realistic, not to the point where it's stressful and it the game into a simulation.

Needless for me to say due to its self-explanatory name, SAHP patrols around highways in a state-wide basis.

*If you want a map with better highlight quality or help in order to install it don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

When patrolling with the SAHP we try to avoid getting out of our jurisdiction. Although allowed, it's strongly prefered you stick to the given jurisdiction. If a situation occurs outside our jurisdiction, as, for example, a pursuit that gets into LSPD's juri, we try to contact the correct department for them to take the suspect(s) into custody. This group has been made for FUN and a minor amount of realism, if you want to grind XP, this is definitely not the best option. If you want to make part of a group that similates to a real department TO THE POINT WHERE IT'S FUN, where teamwork is necessary, then this is the group for you.

  Protocols, rules & requirements.
As mentioned various times before, we are simply a group of people who assimilate in a fun basis to a Highway Patrol department. Obviously we do not operate exactly as them, yet it's something... Slightly similar. So the protocols are very simple. Just maintain a basic radio knowledge level (head to for some formats, remember, it is not necessary that you learn those radio formats exactly as stated. You can use your own words as long as it's understandable.). Be organized on pursuits. Let your partners know if you're going to be primary, secondary, etc; Let them know if you're going to PIT; Ask for permission to overtake a partner, etcetera. We also suggest you learn basic 10-codes. All codes will be listed here: You can go ahead and use all the codes, but to keep it easier and more basic for everybody just preferably use the highlighted ones, alongst with ETA (Estimated Time Arrival. In other words, the time you think it'll take for you to arrive to said position).

As of the rules, we are not really strict. As the person in charge, I really don't want SAHP to be a group that is impossible to get into in, nor to put any rules that will restrict the fun. We ask for basic stuff that makes a basic group. We don't want fights within the members, we don't want trollers, etcetera... Pretty much the basic shit.

So, passing on to the requirements. It is a must that you have TeamSpeak. You do not need a microphone, though it's prefered in order to communicate. Another must is to download the car mod(s). It's better for everyone. You don't need the skin mods I designed but if you want to use them, feel free. (Side-note: I only take credit for the TXD textures, aka the car or skin textures, not the DFF/models. Full DFF credit goes to their creators.) My suggestion is that you use the skins, as it doesn't really take much to install them. If you don't know how to install mods into your SAPDFR folder, check this:;boardseen#new
At the moment we only have one car mod. I've taken my time to modify the previous car mod and give it a better quality. I also chose some nice skins that belonged to RCSD and textured them in order to fit SAHP. Here is the link for the zip archive: . Just drag all the files into the "files" folder in the SAPDFRMods folder.

  How to join.
Interested in joining? Awesome. Send me a PM with the subject "SAHP". Just tell me if you meet the requirements (Have TS, download car mods), if you agree and understand that if you don't follow the rules we won't integrate you anymore, as we're looking for fun, not trollers and/or stressful people who bring the fun down. I'll update you on how to get started and boom. Welcome to SAHP.

So, that is about it. I've taken a lot of my time to design the images, skins, car mods, jurisdiction map, rules and many other stuff. You probably didn't read the whole thread, but if you did, odes to you. Hopefully you all like the idea. Lets keep San Andreas' highways plagued with unnecessarily old Caprices and motorcycles. Don't hesitate to comment your opinion, a question, whatever. If you're a member, if you could upload screenshots up to the comment section it'd be appreciated. See you on patrol. -

Here's some screenshots of today's first patrol for SAHP. Thank you @Blast3r and @MasterAfter for the epic patrol. We sure did have a good laugh. Credits for the screenshots go to Blazta.

Hey Juan you did a lot of good work on this thread. It really must have taken some time. Also thanks for putting all the mods in one compressed file. I guess I'm crazy or assiduous because I read everything :D I think I don't have anything else to add. I'll see you on the road.

That feel when Highway 46's route abruptly ends at an underpass and Highway 48 is basically told to fuck off

EDIT: Just noticed that Whig St in San Fierro abruptly ends at an underpass instead of continuing to Half St then the Gant Bridge :////////////////

Thank you very much, I'm glad you appreciate it. Makes me think all the work I did was worth it, haha.

Just 2 screenshots after a pursuit to give you a taste of what it's like in SAHP  :P

Well I wasn't really focused onto taking screenshots today so I only took two:

Ladies and gentlemen, here we have the first update of our official SAHP modpack.

For a picture preview of what was added, head over here:

As of this update, I modified a Tahoe and modify/texture it for it to adapt a real life Tahoe, which I'll leave down here if you can't be arsed to check the imgur.

So now, as I was saying, SAHP has another unit to patrol with other than an old Caprice. Moving on further to the update, I also designed a new SAHP skin for the motorcycle officer, which can also be seen in the imgur album. This was obviously a somewhat small update. I'm always up for suggestions. The .zip on the main thread has been updated, here it is again what-so-ever:

To-do list:
Find a nice model for a Tahoe and modify it for it to be SAHP.
Make a custom motorcycle skin that fits the department.
Find a decent car to replace the old Caprice. If you'd still like the Caprice to stay, it can be assigned to another car. I was thinking about a Crown Vic or a Charger.
- Open for suggestions, feel free to shoot any ideas. (not literally though, we need them alive. I, JuanTwoThree, do not take responsibility for any wounded/dead ideas.)

Don't click the pastebin link.

Oh my goodness gracious that is an old Tahoe model. At least what you did to it looks nice!

I would, however, suggest this for updates/other models
