Off Topic Discussion / 2010 G20 Summit
« on: May 09, 2018, 02:11:43 am »
I know its well past when this happened, but I feel it is a very important discussion we should all be having, especially with the different situations around the world that can result in similar situations.

I want to hear your thoughts. What is a peaceful protest? When does it cross the line into an unlawful assembly? When does it go to the point of no return and become a full blown riot?

What should be the line law enforcement DOES NOT CROSS.

More importantly, was what was done in the following video the right way to handle it, or should there have been a different approach? If you were involved, both as a demonstrator, a bystander, or even a cop, what would you have done?

I know @SCPD lives around the area where this happened, and may even have a unique insight to the whole ordeal. I'm anxious to hear his thoughts

Here is the video

[FR:SA] Suggestions / Re: AFK System
« on: May 03, 2018, 09:48:47 pm »
would think that would be better suited in the bug tracker, as there currently is an AFK system, so it seems like a bug or glitch to me. just my $0.02

Some players might still wanna stretch out for a bit of realism tho. For instance:

* SCPD writes a ticket worth $200 for speeding.

So do what I do:

/c I've issued [insert offenders name here] a citation for [insert amound] for [insert reason]

Denied Suggestions / [Suggestion] Disable /me usage in server
« on: April 26, 2018, 05:14:01 pm »
Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): MTA

Suggestion: Create a script so that whenever someone attempts to use the /me command, it automatically sends the user a message saying "The server management has disabled the use of the /me command"

Why should this be added?: As this is not a roleplay server, there isn't really any need for this command to be active

Anything else you'd like to add?: Disabling this may also help cut down on unintentional keybind spam, including spam in other languages. I was looking through the MTA wiki, and from everything I read, it should definately be possible to block the message from going to the chatbox, and sending a predefined message to the player

6
What I think would be a sort of win-win, is leave the fristing script the way it is, but add the ability to "restrain" the suspect. I know there isn't any animations for handcuffing, but have it so that it acts like they are cuffed. the anim isn't really required

Denied Suggestions / [Suggestion] Supporter role
« on: April 21, 2018, 11:35:39 pm »
b]Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website):[/b] MTA

Suggestion: Supporter role

Why should this be added?: It would be nice to give those who wish to help new players, but either aren't eligable to be a staff member, or don't want to be full on staff, a way to be able to do so, and to let other people know they can come to them

Anything else you'd like to add?: The only commands this role would have access to would be the ones related to questions from the /ask command. They would not have the same permissions that members from the helper team have, and this WOULD NOT be in any way a part of the staff team

Resolved Reports / Re: [Player Report] Lypik000 and Bladeu
« on: April 16, 2018, 10:17:22 pm »
Just want to put this out there @Marcos shooting at otherf player's vehicles, even if he did steal them, is never a good idea. The admins could very well punish you as well. Not saying that should happen, and I know if we're not involved we sholdn't be commenting on reports, but just want to help you out buddy

[FR:SA] Suggestions / Re: Drunk Drivers
« on: April 16, 2018, 10:12:47 pm »
If a vehicle is swerving back and forth, hitting other vehicles, and going through intersections, I think its a judgement call. The current breathylizer script may not show them as being drunk, but most officers IRL would assume they are drunk and arrest them. If that doesn't satisfy you, pull them out of the vehicle and preform a DUI test on them, or even search them. Driving under the influence doesn't just mean alcohol. They could be under the influence of drugs, so do a search of them, you never know if you might find drugs on them, and you can book em for that

Spoiler

For motor vehicle collisions involving 1-3 vehicles, my city uses a fully tiered response. They send one engine, at least one EMS unit (depending on injuries), and minimum of 1 police cruiser.

For monitored fire alarm (residential/house) usually sent is 3 engines, 1 truck (ladder), and one car (district chief or platoon chief).
For monitored fire alarm (highrise), usually sent is 4 engines, 2 trucks, 1 rescue, and one car.
For structure fires (residential) its the same response level as a monitored fire alarm (residential)
For structure fires (highrise) its the same response level as a monitored fire alarm (highrise)
For Hazmat level 1, usually sent is 1 engine, and one car. (this can be something as simple as a fuel spill.
For Hazmat level 2, usually sent is 1 Engine, 1 HAZMAT truck, 1 Rescue, and One car (can be a natual gas leak, or any other gas leak).
For Hazmat level 3, usually sent is 2 engines, 1 Hazmat truck, 1 Decon trailer, 1 rescue, and one car. (This is for serious calls like chemical spill, industrial accient, or motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle carrying chemicals).
For marine rescue, usually sent is 1 engine, 1 car, 1 rescue, 1 marine unit, 1 Zodiac unit.

So this is a thread to talk about your area's public safety agency response protocols. This includes Fire department, EMS, and police, as well as multi-agency (tiered) response. We all know different jurisdictions have different protocols, so it's interesting to see what the different protocols are for your area.

To keep the thread clean, please use the following format

[FR:SA] Suggestions / Re: [Suggestion] Roadblock's
« on: April 10, 2018, 02:16:51 am »
Yes but i mean is it really necessary?
We already have spikestrips and not many people roleplay in the server. It will stop traffic and i think we have enough of it already. My opinion :)

Not to mention as @Blast3r has said many many times, this isn't a roleplay server XD
