Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): Forum

Suggestion: Add a subsection to the FR:SA Suggestions section titled "Implemented"

Why should this be added?: Having an implemented section would allow for better organization. I notice a lot of suggestions just kind of sitting around, and I could be wrong, but I think part of it is they are generally agreed upon as being accepted, but as the devs may be focused on other things, its not marked as accepted because they can't work on it. With this idea, if the staff think it should be accepted, they can move it to the "Accepted" section until they are ready to work on it. When that time comes, it can be moved to the "Implemented" section.

Anything else you'd like to add?: I think this would help with some suggestions getting buried in the boards, so that it would be easier to tell if somethings been suggested already. It would also just help to clean up the suggestions section

I'm not very familiar with the medic/firefighter careers, but both are separate "classes" to my understanding. Medics get calls to handle injured people and Firefighter get calls to handle fires. If Firefighters can do the Medic's job, then what purpose would the medic truly have? Other than playing "taxi" for already handled patients...

Nah, can't say I would support this idea, that role should stay with the Medics

To be honest, a good majority of fire departments in the US have dual use fire trucks, that are equipped with ALS or advanced life support equipment. The reason being that in life threatening calls the fire department is more often than not the first on scene. This is an excerpt from a paramedic firefighter job description

Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) assessment and treatment
of medical and/or trauma adult and pediatric patients

So for the script, having firefighters able to perform CPR, or stabilizing lungs is very realistic. However, I would suggest making it a fire engineer or above skill

As most of us know, Canada and the US share many border crossings. What many don’t know is first responders frequently have to cross the border into another country to provide mutual aid. This can cause a lot of complications in terms of radio communication, as agencies often have different radio systems that may not be compatible with each other. In the event of a mass casualty incident, this can put lives at risk. I’d like to hear if your country faces similar challenges, and how they try to mitigate them.

Other Games / SWAT 4 TSS question

not sure if anyone else here plays SWAT 4 TSS, but I got a bit of a problem. I have the Sheriff's Special Forces Realism mod, and I havent played it in a while. I tried to play it this morning using the SFF launcher, and it said  "An update is needed and it will be applied now". I clicked OK, and it seemed like it opened another window, but then exited it right away. This happens every time I try to launch it. I have it set to run as an administrator.

The SSF version is 3.2

Does anyone know if there is a more recent version of it, and where I can download it manually?

Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): MTA

Suggestion: I have an idea for 3 different callouts. The first would be for both PD and FD. The callout type would be either "Suspicious fire" or "arson". How the call would work is both PD and fire would get assigned the call, once FD puts the fire out, "a witness" would report seeing a suspicious individual fleeing the scene, and give a description, and PD would have to search for them. The suspect would be running on foot.

The second call would be the same as the first, except the suspect would be in a vehicle driving away from the scene. it could be a 50% chance of turning into a pursuit, or the suspect could surrender.

The third would be a medical distress with a vehicle, where there would be a driver who goes into cardiac arrest, PD would have to stop the vehicle, and then EMS would have to perform CPR

Why should this be added?: Would make the calls more interesting, and would make PD and FD have to work together

not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but when driving the fire truck and you apply the brake, its not a smooth deceleration, nor a realistic one given the vehicles weight. It just seems to lock up the wheels so you start skidding. I don't know if theres a way to adjust this in the handling.cfg , or even if you did manage to tweak the file to be better if the handling would transfer over to MTA. Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions?

I know its well past when this happened, but I feel it is a very important discussion we should all be having, especially with the different situations around the world that can result in similar situations.

I want to hear your thoughts. What is a peaceful protest? When does it cross the line into an unlawful assembly? When does it go to the point of no return and become a full blown riot?

What should be the line law enforcement DOES NOT CROSS.

More importantly, was what was done in the following video the right way to handle it, or should there have been a different approach? If you were involved, both as a demonstrator, a bystander, or even a cop, what would you have done?

I know @SCPD lives around the area where this happened, and may even have a unique insight to the whole ordeal. I'm anxious to hear his thoughts

Some players might still wanna stretch out for a bit of realism tho. For instance:

* SCPD writes a ticket worth $200 for speeding.

So do what I do:

Suggestion: Create a script so that whenever someone attempts to use the /me command, it automatically sends the user a message saying "The server management has disabled the use of the /me command"

Why should this be added?: As this is not a roleplay server, there isn't really any need for this command to be active

Anything else you'd like to add?: Disabling this may also help cut down on unintentional keybind spam, including spam in other languages. I was looking through the MTA wiki, and from everything I read, it should definately be possible to block the message from going to the chatbox, and sending a predefined message to the player
