One month of SAPD:FR Online under Advanced Gaming Hey there.

So it's been a full month since we released our first 1.0.0 update so I figured that it should be recognized with this thread. So let's cover some things on what happened during our first month:


Updates

So far we've been through 5 updates and I believe we have the rights to say that we've changed quite a lot on the script and made it a lot better. Some of the notable changes that came through these updates are:

  • Brand new UI
  • Different departments that each have their own stats as well as completely changed ranking structure
  • Completely rewritten callouts that are a lot cleaner for the script and give random outcomes to make them less repetitive
  • A brand new /settings menu that came in the first update
  • Seperated dispatch chat from the chat which made following chat a lot easier
  • 39+ bugs fixed (counting from all the changelog posts)
  • Added an anti friendly fire, anti car theft & anti afk system
  • And much more that you guys can see in all of the update changelogs

A lot of these updates were influenced by your suggestions and feedback. Of course we may not be adding in suggestions as fast as some of you expect us to but you have to understand that there's a lot of work for us to do besides your suggestions.


Members

In the first month we reached 400+ registered accounts, hit a record of 14 players online at the same time as well as 43 members on the forums with 96 topics and 378 posts. It may not be much but we're more than happy with these numbers considering that the script itself is heavily based on NPC interaction and does not require a lot of players online at the same time.


Staff Additions

As a backup to the staff we've hired @SCPD, @Nick & @JuanTwoThree which we believe have been doing a great job on the server so far. Of course if you have had any negative experiences with them you can always put up your feedback about them and send it to one of the High Command Administrators.


Honorable Mentions

@Nick - Reaching top rank in 4 departments already & creating multiple mod packs.
@Caracatus1 - Being the first member to reach the Chief of Police rank .
@SCPD - Creating multiple videos in the server that are quite neat & creating multiple mod packs.

Re: Turn Signals Except that those simbols are already taken by the ELM afaik, the third option that is. Guess we could go for [ & ] by default and let everyone rebind it to their likings. Not sure yet.

Update 1.1.0 - Our plans & your thoughts Alright guys, let's talk about the big one now. This is something that we've been talking about both in game and on the forums as well as between us developers. We've figured it's time to release the entire plan about the big 1.1 update that will come to you in in a matter of a few weeks and bring some rather major changes to the entire script.

The systems that we plan to add with it are as follows:


New spawn menu

A brand new spawn menu that will be completely expanded from the current menu and will allow users to switch through multiple branches such as Police Departments, EMTs, FDs and maybe later even FBI.

With the new spawn menu we'll be able to expand the script in the future with any branch ideas that you guys come up with and in addition we'll be able to add "division spawning" which will let you spawn things that are specifically assigned to your division (division such as SWAT, Detective, etc.). Divisions, however, will not be a part of the 1.1.0 update, divisions will come later but the spawn menu will be expanded for the system right away.


EMTs / FD branches

The long awaited and asked for feature, EMTs and FD, they will have seperate callouts assigned only to them by the system and will be able to respond to player's medic requests. EMTs will have full ability to rescue patient's lives if in danger by following on screen commands (such as pressing arrows or what not, aka minigames) while FDs will have to extinguish any of the existing fires and maybe even pull out victims from their vehicles.


MDC System

MDC System will also not be ignored in this update, you will be able to run both ped names and vehicle plates on the system. In general I'm pretty sure you're all already aware on how the MDC System works so there's not much to say about it here.


Partner Patrols

With the new spawn menu you'll also be able to select the partner patrol options. Once you go into partner patrol you and your partner will be assigned as one unit (so called "Adam" unit - Adam is used for 2 man patrol in the LAPD). An example of your unit name would be 02 - Adam - 42 (you'll figure out how numbers on it are generated once the system is in). With a 2 man patrol you'll be able to access your partner's vehicle as a driver, you'll both get the same callout and exp for whatever actions you do. In addition we might also add a small additional exp reward for going into partner patrols to support more people doing it.


That's about it from the ideas, throughout the update proccess we'll release a couple of screenshots of the new systems as teasers for you, as we already said this might take a few weeks (a while to be exact) as those are some pretty big systems that we're implementing. We hope you'll have the patience for it as we can assure you, you will love it.

Maybe in one of the updates we can have more of undercover cars, like one more 4 door car and one more 2 door car that are unmarked would be nice, more cars for the user to add mods to.

LOL tbh we already have like 12-14 patrol cars xD. If we keep adding more there will be 100 patrol cars and 1 civi car or something like tht haha xD

[Suggestion] Require all players to review server rules upon connection
Suggestion for (MTA, Forum, website): MTA Server

Suggestion: Force all players to read and accept server rules upon connection before they can spawn. If they decline the rules, it should automatically disconnect them from the server

Why should this be added?:Currently players can use the excuse "I didn't know that was against the rules", if they are caught insulting others, stealing arrests, spamming the chat, not using english in chat, using all capitals in chat. An example of such can be seen here: http://forum.sapdfr.advanced-gaming.org/index.php?topic=157.msg633#new

With this on the server, if the player clicks accept, any actions made on their player is their responsibility, and they can't use the defense of I didn't know, since they accepted the server rules. If they accepted without reading, thats nobody's fault but theirs

Anything else you'd like to add?: Several players were frustrated by the dm fest that occured last night by two users. Eventually they both left because I warned them several times that if they did not stop, they would be reported. It troubles me that it even had to get to that point

Re: How to install skin mods Very cool update so now we can install mods just for server without replacing the original files from the game, right? If yes this is very good.

Also, instead of globally muting everyone, maybe add two commands, one being /togpm (id) and the other being /togpm all
